Specialist Dento-Maxillofacial Radiologist

Dr Yastira Lalla is an AHPRA registered Dento-maxillofacial Radiologist whose clinical and academic work sits at the intersection of specialist imaging and everyday dental practice.
Dr Lalla graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2012. She began a Master of Philosophy in Oral Oncology concurrently in the final year of her undergraduate degree and completed this in 2014.
During her post-graduate studies she has worked as an Associate Dentist in the Brisbane and Ipswich areas. Dr Lalla was awarded a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Dento-maxillofacial Radiology in 2018 and is a Member of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons.
Dr Lalla's reporting practice encompasses Cone Beam CT, Medical CT, MRI, and conventional radiography. She works at Queensland X-Ray and as a Senior Dento-maxillofacial Radiologist at the Metro North Oral Health Centre in Brisbane. She has served as a visiting lecturer at Griffith University and as an examiner for Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry candidates at the University of Queensland.
Dr Lalla has a particular interest in making Cone Beam CT interpretation accessible and immediately applicable for general and specialist dental practitioners — and in ensuring clinicians feel genuinely confident, not just compliant, in their use of Cone Beam CT Units.
